About
Jessica Talisman has been an evangelist and pioneer in therapeutic movement disciplines for over 15 years.
After graduating with a B.A. in History from Smith College, Jessica went on to pursue a Masters in Teaching. While in graduate school, Jessica taught horseback riding and trained horses in the Hunter and Jumper discipline. In an effort to combine her love for movement and teaching, Jessica studied closely with Bikram Choudury in Los Angeles to earn her certification in Bikram Yoga in 1999. Soon after, she opened her first studio, Hall Street Yoga.
While teaching Yoga, Jessica earned her Classical Pilates Certification from Romana Kryzanowska, direct protégée of Joseph Pilates. Jessica continued her studies in Pilates with Peak Pilates and Power Pilates, later founding Portland , Oregon’s Reform Pilates+Movement. Soon thereafter, Jessica found a natural evolution in her body and movement that lead her to the Gyrotonic Expansion System developed by Juliu Horvath. Jessica has been teaching and studying Gyrotonic and the floor format, Gyrokenisis, since 2004 with Mr Horvath.
Jessica is certified to teach the Tower, Ladder, Archway, Jumping Stretching Board, Archway, Leg Extension Unit, Gyrotoner, and Gyrokenisis. Jessica is dedicated to maximizing the results of movement by personally tailoring exercises to the individual or group.
